|
The Jean Marie Cardinell Chapter, NSDAR, was established in 1941. Our namesake was a French trapper who it is believed to be the first man to die west of the Mississippi River in the defense of the cause for American independence. A magnificent stained glass window depicting Jean Marie Cardinell and his death hangs in the St. Ambrose Cathedral in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.
